Tthe International City of lace and fashion located in Calais welcomes ˝Spirit of Lingerie˝. This exhibition highlights the new orientation operated after the last war by the lace industrialists of Calais who, while pursuing their traditional lace productions for dress, distinguished themselves from their counterparts of Caudry by  emphasizing the manufacturing of lace intended for lingerie. “Spirit of Lingerie” thus supports the collective interest of a whole population and a profession by highlighting this industrial activity which allowed the lace of Calais to weave its fame all over the world.


Exclusive models proposed by fashion designers, creators and lingerie manufacturers are displayed. A focus is placed on lingerie and lace in the American movie production of the fifties as well as on contemporary artistic expressions.
